The Great Wall

I chose The Great Wall because it's special and interesting. It's the longest human made structure and I am surprised! Its made from earth, stones, and wood. It's 6,400 km (4,000 miles) and its gaigantic!

Chartres Cathedral,France

I chose the Chartres Cathedral,France because it is very big. The cathedral was added to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1979.

Eiffel Tower

I chose the Eiffel Tower because I wanted to learn more about it. It is located in Paris, France and was built by Alexandre Gustave Eiffel. The tower was finished on the 30th of March, 1889 and was opened on the 6th of May. Eiffel had a permit for the tower to stand for 20 years, meaning it would have had to be taken down in 1909. Luckily, this command was never made.

About the project - From the teacher

This project helps students become familiar with basic journalism concepts. In the first lesson, students are given topics to find in a newspaper. It is a good reading exercise as they scan through the different sections and articles in the newspaper. News Correspondent enhances reading, writing and researching skills in a way students can easily understand.
